A SUFI READING OF THE GOSPEL OF JOHN

edited by a team of specialists h/b 452pp

In order to illuminate the Sufi approach in the Gospel of John, the authors choose eight symbols, or concepts or basic keys, as follows: the beginning, life, light, love, the lamb, wine, water, bread. 'The life' and 'the light' are the most loved of the beautiful names of God among the Sufis. In the commentary it is noted that much of Sufi poetry and literature points to the person of Jesus Christ and his teachings.
